An attractive jewellery image can still show the wrong product. Before approving AI jewellery photography or a diamond product video, review the design separately from the styling.

Begin with the intended use
An editorial concept explores a visual idea. A product listing needs to represent the item a customer will receive. Establish which type of image you are reviewing and how it will be described when published.
AI-generated jewellery imagery should not be treated as evidence of a diamond’s weight, grading, clarity or origin. Those product claims need their own verified information. Where exact representation is essential, retaining original product photography and developing the surrounding scene may be a more suitable approach.
Check the diamond shape and stone sequence
Compare the final image with a clear reference at a useful magnification. Start with the centre stone: is its outline still correct? Does the arrangement of surrounding stones match the piece? Examine the number, spacing and sequence of stones, especially in multi-row necklaces and articulated earrings.
A pear, oval or emerald-cut stone has a recognisable silhouette. A convincing sparkle should not distract from a changed outline or an invented extra stone. For coloured gemstones, compare hue and relative placement as well as shape.
Review the setting and construction
Look at the prongs, bezels, galleries, connectors and chain links. Check whether the elements join in a plausible way and whether the design matches the source photographs. Small errors can be easy to miss when the background and lighting are attractive.
- Count visible prongs where the reference makes this possible.
- Check the orientation of pear-shaped drops and connecting links.
- Compare the band, shank or chain thickness.
- Inspect clasps, hinges, engravings and distinctive motifs.
- Do not approve invented hallmarks or altered branding.
Check scale, metal colour and placement
Compare the dimensions you supplied with the apparent proportions in the finished composition. For jewellery model imagery, assess whether an earring, ring or necklace looks plausible relative to the wearer. A beautiful portrait can still make the product look substantially larger than it is.
Review metal colour against the reference. Lighting can change its appearance, but a yellow-gold piece should not quietly become rose gold or platinum. Ask for a neutral reference comparison if dramatic campaign lighting makes assessment difficult.
For jewellery video, inspect more than the opening frame
Watch the full clip, then pause at several points. Check whether stones appear or disappear, connections change, reflections become distracting or proportions shift as the camera moves. A detail can be stable in a still and inconsistent across a sequence.
Clarify whether the clip uses camera motion over a still, composited footage or generated movement. Each approach has different limitations. A full rotation reveals surfaces that a single front photograph cannot document; additional reference material or another production method may be necessary.
Use a clear approval checklist
- Confirm the product and reference files being compared.
- Review stone shape, count, sequence and setting.
- Check metal colour, proportions and any visible branding.
- Review the crop and format for the intended placement.
- List requested corrections with annotated examples.
- Approve the final version explicitly before publication.
